A restored stone shepherd’s lodge, lost in the high pastures. Wood fire, candles, wind and stars. And nothing else.
The place
In the heart of the Auvergne Volcanoes Natural Park, at 1,300 metres, Le Buron de la Chambe is an old shepherd’s house in stone, restored with extreme care. No electricity, no signal. Spring water, a wood-burning stove, candlelight. For up to eight guests, two independent bedrooms, a stone trough turned into a bathtub, a fitted kitchen. Outside, the horses and goats keep watch.

It is a gem! A place so remote and yet so refined… We are happier here than in any 5-star hotel!
